La delizia: 15 prizes in the most important national and international competitions for sparkling wines
The year 2022 was a truly successful one for La Delizia Viticoltori Friulani, as it marked the value and distinction of its sparkling wines both acknowledged in the most prestigious national and international wine competitions, receiving 15 prizes, medals and special recognitions. An exceptional performance attained after the 12 awards achieved between 2020 and 2021 together with the increase in sales; all results that confirm the quality of the sparkling wines from the Casarsa della Delizia cellar and enhance their appreciation on the market in Italy and abroad. "The added value of these awards” said the president of La Delizia, Flavio Bellomo, “is that they have been achieved in competitions in which the jury was formed by proven (true) experts and professionals in the world of wine: it means that beside the aspects related to the consumption and the appeal, evaluated by sommeliers and oenologists, other standpoints have been evaluated by wine industry managers who know how to reward the value of a product of quality together with its sales potential in the market.
These prizes projected our company to a leading position in the Friuli Venezia Giulia region by means of the projects we are developing, with a global approach to our production cycle that is based on the values of environmental, economic and social sustainability. We are looking to the future with full confidence. We are proud of our sparkling wines and of the passion that our staff and partners put into their work every day”.
The latest awards in chronological order are those achieved in Vienna in the Falstaff sparkling special 2022 competition, with the Naonis sparkling (Prosecco DOC, Prosecco DOC sustainable UVA and Prosecco DOC Rosè vintage) all recognized to be of a high level (above 90 points) by the technical jury, particularly specialized in the German-speaking European market that has been provided wide coverage by the well-known trade magazine “Falstaff”. We likewise, have been awarded a special certificate by the national Confcooperative for the project of the sustainable Prosecco DOC UVA within the Cooperative Sustainability Competition, where 144 cooperatives came from all regions of the Italian peninsula to attend the event.
Previously, again for the project “UVA”, the Agorà Award has been given to us for the graphic design of the project which happens to be first sustainable Prosecco DOC wine that also received an award in the spring at Vinitaly in Verona – the most relevant wine trade-fair of national and international importance – achieving the “Environment & Sustainability” special award in the Design International Packaging Competition at the 26th Vinitaly. Furthermore, UVA obtained the award for best label and packaging at the Filari di Bolle sparkling wine selection. With the project “UVA – we put into effect, through a creative point of view, the cornerstones of the group’s corporate sustainability plan and our idea of agriculture and the environment” Bellomo added.
In addition, this year, the sparkling wines of the Naonis product line obtained a special appreciation at the Decanter World Wine Award 2022, one of the most important wine competitions in the world, by internationally renowned experts and professionals from the wine industry. The silver medal was awarded to CuvèeJadér and the bronze one to Ribolla Gialla Spumante Brut.
At the beginning of the year at the Concours Mondial de Bruxelles the gold medal was awarded to Prosecco DOC Rosè Spumante Extra Dry and a gold medal was also assigned to the Ribolla Gialla Spumante Brut at the Berliner Wine Trophy. At the Selection of Filari di Bolle sparkling wines, the CuvèeJadèr Spumante Brut won the first prize in the Charmat Method category. Finally, at the International Wine Challenge, a silver medal was obtained for Prosecco DOC Extra Dry, a bronze one for Ribolla Gialla Spumante Brut and the commended award for CuvèeJadér.
